Who We Are:
Parents’ Association of the Louisville Youth Orchestra,
Incorporated (a.k.a. Parents Network) directly supports the
Louisville Youth Orchestra (LYO) by scheduling and providing
volunteers for forward-facing and "behind the scenes" activities
during rehearsals, performances, and sponsored trips. The parents of
each LYO student are automatically members of the Parents Network.
We need volunteer time from each LYO family.
Who You Are:
At your Audition and at the first rehearsal, you will be given the
opportunity to fill out a Parents Network Volunteer form. Then
sometime during the year you will be contacted to see which volunteer
event(s) you are available.
What We Need:
For each rehearsal we need volunteers to help with setting up and taking
down chairs and stands. For most performances, we need ticket sellers,
ticket takers, ushers, and Music CD & merchandise sellers. We also need
chaperones for various events.
Carpooling:
Some parents make carpooling arrangements to rehearsals on their own.
For those who would like to join a carpool but have not been able to get
into one, let the LYO office know of your interest and they will attempt
to match you with like-minded parents in your area of town. Just call or
e-mail your name, address, and phone
number to the LYO office with your carpooling request.
