Philharmonic Orchestra

Philharmonic Orchestra is a full orchestra with strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. It includes student musicians who are prepared and eager to learn diverse repertoire of intermediate to advanced levels. Woodwind and Brass students are automatically dual-enrolled in Philharmonic Winds.  This structure provides valuable string, woodwind, and brass sectional rehearsal each and every week. Philharmonic Orchestra rehearses at LYO’s St. Matthews rehearsal venue on Sundays from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.

Carl Kling

Carl Kling has been active in music education since 1993.  He holds a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Texas Wesleyan University (Fort Worth, TX) and a Master of Music Degree in Conducting and Clarinet Performance from Stephen F. Austin State University (Nacogdoches, TX).Michele was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil and holds a Bachelor of Music Performance in Violin and Music Education from the University of Kentucky and a Masters degree in Music Education from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. 

Caroline Joyner

With over a decade of teaching experience, Caroline has guided students of all ages and levels.  She aims to promote a welcoming and engaged environment where students can learn at their own pace, explore their creativity, and ask questions.  From nurturing beginners to mentoring those with professional aspirations, her goal as a teacher is to cultivate fundamental and highly transferable skills: inquisitiveness, patience, dedication, and the ability to compromise and listen.
