Auditions & Registration
The Louisville Youth Orchestra includes eight ensembles and over 400 students that serve a wide range of skill levels from beginner to advanced and nearly everything in between.
Audition are LYO’s way of placing each student in the musical environment that will help them thrive. We have a place for every student at LYO.
How to Get Started
Mid-season auditions will be held on Saturday, December 7, 9am-12pm. To register, complete the application process by clicking “Registration Portal” below.
Tuition for the Spring Semester will be $350. Flexible payment plans are widely available to all LYO families. Late season need-based tuition assistance may still be available.

Most auditions include two music excerpts, a scale, and short sight reading. Learn more and access excerpt previews here:
Step 2 - Submit audition registration form
If the audition fee is a financial barrier prohibiting you/your child from auditioning, please reach out directly for assistance at info@lyo.org or send us a message with our contact form.
