Sponsorships
The Louisville Youth Orchestra offers an extraordinary opportunity for young musicians in our community. Students receive approximately 100 hours of rehearsal with professional conductors, inspiring performance opportunities, and innovative programs. The cost of providing these opportunities averages approximately $1,400 per student each year.
The LYO strives, however, to keep tuition as affordable as possible. Tuition in core ensembles is $575 per year with discounts for families with more than one member. Tuition assistance and flexible payment plans significantly reduce the cost of tuition for most of our families.
So where does the remaining money come from? Major support is provided by the Fund for the Arts, the Kentucky Arts Council, special grants, and generous contributors. Tuition alone cannot sustain LYO’s mission. We rely on the generous patronage of our partners.

How can I help?
Student Sponsorship Program
Each Fall, Patrons and Community Partners sponsor the cost of a student’s tuition ensuring that financial obstacles are never a barrier to participation. LYO will award $35,000 in tuition assistance in 2024. The Student Sponsorship Program ensures our LYO’s capacity to provide equitable access to music education. Student Sponsorship exists at two tiers:
Full Student Sponsor
Your $575 tax-deductible contribution covers the cost of one additional student’s annual tuition. As a way of expressing gratitude, patrons receive:
- Four (4) complimentary tickets to each and every LYO concert.
- Named recognition on LYO’s website, programs, and other donor related promotions.
- Complimentary LYO-branded donor gift.
Half Student Sponsor
In partnership with another patron, your $300 tax-deductible contribution will support the cost of an additional student’s annual tuition. As a way of expressing gratitude, half student sponsors will receive:
- Two (2) complimentary tickets to each and every LYO concert.
- Named recognition on LYO’s website, programs, and other donor related promotions.
Other Sponsorship Opportunities
Patrons who would like to sponsor LYO in more general ways are encouraged to reach out to us at info@lyo.org. Opportunities includes Ensemble, Concert and even Season Sponsorships. LYO staff is committed to partnering with you to craft a custom recognition package that appropriately honors your gift.
